As I sit and write

This week, I attended a lecture about the hazards of sitting at your desk (lots of ailments plus a shorter life span). For a few days, I decided I would try standing up while writing. It lasted for a couple of days before I just had to sink into a chair. It was a nice experiment…I became more aware of how long I do sit and write, and I took more breaks. Also, since I run, it all comes out in the wash; running adds years to your life.

In order to finalize the paperback for The Last Princess, I rewrote the prologue and first chapter of The Rogue Raider. I feel good about the final outcome, especially when a fellow author I asked to look at it not only was positive about it, she bought Books 1 and 2!

With The Last Princess’ paperback changed and waiting to be approved, I went back to revising Blemish. There was a bit of a stretch in the manuscript where I was like, “Oh my, what was I thinking?” Frankly, the passages were melodramatic. Suffice it to say, there’s some work ahead. The good news is we are down on the home stretch.

I can do this.
